How the appointment works
1. Meet and settle
Your puppy explores the space, meets their groomer, and gets treats before anything happens.
2. Handling practice
Paws, ears, face, and tail are touched gently and rewarded to build trust.
3. Bath and dry
A warm bath followed by a slow introduction to the dryer, with breaks whenever needed.
4. Light tidy
Nails, a face and feet trim, and a sanitary tidy — kept short so the puppy finishes on a good note.
5. Pickup and plan
We tell you exactly how it went and recommend how soon to come back to keep momentum.

When should a puppy get its first groom?
Usually around 12–16 weeks, once your puppy has started their vaccination series. Earlier introductions are mostly about handling and confidence rather than a full haircut.
Will my puppy get a full haircut on the first visit?
No. The first visit is a bath, dry, nails, and a light face/feet/sanitary tidy. Keeping it short is what makes the next groom easy.
How often should a puppy be groomed?
Every 4–6 weeks at first. Frequent short visits build tolerance far better than waiting until the coat is long and matted.
What can I do at home between visits?
Brush a little every day, handle paws and ears, and run a quiet hair dryer nearby. Two minutes a day makes an enormous difference.
Do you groom doodle puppies?
Yes — and starting early matters most for doodles. Their adult coat comes in around 8–12 months, and puppies who are used to brushing handle that change far better.
